Spray Painted Glass Bottles

I saw this quick and easy idea in a magazine recently. If anyone else saw it an can tell me where, I'd really appreciate it. My memory is clearly failing (Did you SEE yesterday's post?) and it's making me crazy!

You'll have to use your imagination a bit on the before shot because I forgot to take one until I was half-way done. That was about 90 seconds after I started this project.

They're just old (not valuable) glass bottles that I had sitting around. I hit each one with different color spray paint ($1 clearance at Sherwin Williams! Woohoo!). No primer. It took exactly 3 minutes to do the whole thing.

Wouldn't these be a great (and cheap!) way to decorate tables for a party or shower? Easy peasy.

Edited to add: If you like this idea, here's another painted bottle project from Lori at Paint, Decorate, Design on the Cheap

I'm linking this post up Hooked on Houses because, clearly, I'm hooked on spray paint.

Kimba, I was reading the June issue of Good Housekeeping this very morning while waiting for my son at the orthodontist. They have a one pager on spray painting vases and bottles. Could that be where you saw it? Theirs were all white, though.

Nice way to update boring ol' glasses quickly! I might give that a try today...I have spray paint and lots of boring glasses!

Love them! I did a craft from a magazine that had you painting the inside of a bottle, but let me tell you that wasn't easy! And I wasn't thrilled with the results at all. This looks so much easier and pretty, too! Did you see it in Country Living? Where I work part time, there are lots of magazines and I was looking at them on my lunch hour yesterday. I recall seeing this craft, or one similar and I thought it was either in Country Living or Good Housekeeping. Thanks for sharing!

I love the colors you picked!!!! I am actually throwing a bridal shower next weekend. Pale Yellow would be a great color to use. I also saw a similar idea to this the other day on this blog:

My daughter often works with bands selling t shirts etc and she has a collection of bottles that she won't throw away because "Pete Wentz drank out of it" or some other crazy rock star. :)
This is a great idea.

Old wine bottles work great with this too. I had my wine-o friend save all their bottles for me so I could do this and make gifts out of it. They make awesome presents. :)

This is just odd because I was looking at an empty olive oil bottle yesterday wondering what I could do with it instead of throwing it away. This is perfect!!

Gorgeous! That was my first thought when I saw them--for my sister's bridal shower in August. The MOH and I are trying to decide on decorations. What a pretty, inexpensive, and creative way to liven up my back yard. :)

I have thought about painting some vases but wondered if it would look too much like "Hey, I painted this clear vase!" Or if it would look like it was supposed to look that way. : )

You make things look so beautiful with such little effort. I just absolutely love this project, and the colors you chose are so cheerful, stylish and absolutely lovely. And I love how you won't see the floaty stuff in the water when it's not perfectly clear.

Wonderful my dear !
