Fall Porch Drive-By and An Announcement

I am playing along with The Inspired Room's Fall Porches on Parade party...otherwise known as a Drive-By Tour. I had fun driving around checking out some front porches all decked out for fall and halloween.

And there's an announcement at the end of my post today. Keep going all the way to the bottom because it involves FREE STUFF!

Onto our drive-by tour...

I love the classic look of this front porch.

And these guys love their pumpkins!

And this front entrance is so beautiful that they could have hung up a sack of potatoes and I still would have taken a picture.

And some great ideas from a good friend. Thanks Maggie!

And these folks called the cops when they saw me outside with my camera. KIDDING! They're good friends too. I love their huge mums!

And this beautiful plaque on the front porch.

This one is just too much fun! This family knows how to do halloween up right!

Now for my announcement

If you read the Nesting Place, you know that the Nester is planning a series of giveaways to encourage her readers to buy some Christmas gifts from small businesses this year rather than buying everything from Target and Macy's. There are so many incredibly talented women who make and sell wonderful products.

When I read Nester's announcement, I got so excited about the idea that I joined up with her and will be running a series of giveaways from some of my favorite Etsy sellers. I am really passionate about trying to support women who are making wonderful products and trying to support their families in the process. This seemed like such a fantastic way to get some of them exposure as the Christmas shopping season begins. I'm sure many of us will be cutting back this year and this is a wonderful way to still give a truly thoughtful gift.

My first giveaway will be tomorrow and here's a hint...It's absolutely CHARMING!!!

Stop back tomorrow to throw your name into the hat and keep checking back because I have LOTS of good stuff lined up for the next few weeks.

Wow, great tour! And that one front porch really could have a sack of potatoes and it would still be lovely! Sounds like you, Nester and me are all thinking down the same lines about moms in business this year. I have started some things for mom businesses to get exposure via my blog as well...I have some giveaways from mom businesses coming up, as well as other mom opportunities in the works (top secret...)!

Thanks for the fun drive by porch tour. Did you put this on Mr. linky? I don't remember seeing it, if not, I'll add it for you.

Blessings,
melissa

Great drive-by's. My favorite is definitely the front porch, but that's me, a front porch kind of gal. I will definitely be back tomorrow to see what you've got cooking.

Thanks for being so supportive of small businesses and the women (and men!) who run them. Target is definitely easy and often quite cute, but if anyone spends even five minutes on Etsy, it'll become a black hole for their money in no time. :)

Kimba, beautiful post. I have been thinking for some time about what you are promoting. I think we should promote our fellow bloggers in their business and buy one of a kind items for Christmas gifts. Great idea, I'm glad you are doing this and I will do my share to order presents!!!!
Blessings,
Debbie

I gasped at that stone entry. Wow. That's somethin'.

I think that's a wonderful idea to support creative women with small businesses like that. Can't wait to see what you feature tomorrow! :-)

It's porches like that that make me hang my head in shame, lol. This year we have a paper skelton hanging from our screen door, but in my defense, we live in a townhouse with no real front porch area.

Great giveaway idea! Can't wait to see what etsy shops you like!

And you're right...that front entrance is awesome (w/ the stonework). Like the house w/ all the pumpkins too. In fact, they were all nice...and while I don't care much for spiders, they did a good job w/ it!
